Wonderfully Wicked Wednesday

This week has been STINKIN' CRAZY!!!! I am getting ready for my very first craft festival (on June 3rd) AND we are leaving for FL for Memorial Day weekend. Nevermind the fact that I just got back from a weekend with Lo and Brooke in ATL, or that we had a 2 1/2 year old for 9 days this month...It's...been...busy. All that to say, I have wanted to blog about our girls' weekend in ATL since Sunday night when I got back home. When doing things to make money are on my to-do list, I must say that the blog writing is the thing that suffers!

Our weekend was, for lack of a more appropriate word, WICKED!!! It's one of those things that I will NEVER NEVER NEVER forget. Saturday was THE day of days. I haven't had a day that was that must fun in a really long time. Our morning began with a trip to IKEA. I don't know if you've ever been to IKEA or heard of IKEA, but I am tellin' ya...this store ROCKS...MY...FACE...OFF. I think, between the 3 of us, the phrases "SHUT UP!" and "I REALLY like that." and "TOO CUTE!" and "I just really can't believe how cheap that is." came out of our mouths more time than the law should allow. We had heard that this store would take up a chunk of our day, but I was thinking 2, maybe 3 hours max. FIVE HOURS LATER...we were checking out. It was unbelievable! First of all, we ate at the IKEA cafe. It was a big as any Applebee's or Chili's I've been in, and CHEAP. Now, you all know that I am a girl about a bargain. I am always looking for ways to do things cheaper than anyone else. Well, breakfast at IKEA (consisting of eggs, bacon or sausage, a potato/peppers and onions medley, a cinnamon roll bigger than Cinnabon rolls, and a soft drink) was only (drum roll, please)...$2.88!!!! I wanted to ask that girl to repeat herself, because I really didn't believe it. AND, the food was REALLY good!!! unbelievable!!! After we got over the craziness of our breakfast experience, we entered the WORLD (and it's big enough to have it's own zip code) of IKEA. I just couldn't get over how inexpensive things were there. REALLY CUTE things...for SUPER CHEAP. I really think that Heaven will have an IKEA. I got some way cute office stuff, and some stinkin' cute stuff for my business, and I left there with a smile on my face! :) Even now, I look at the things I purchased (which by the way was an overflowing cart for less than $100!!!) and think "I just can't believe what I paid for that." I WILL go again, and as soon as possible!!!

After IKEA, we ventured off to the mall, but of course nothing we found even came close to the high we got from IKEA. THEN, it was time for THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY!!!!! I got some salad that was bigger than my head, and we had some of the best cheesecake in the world. White Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle (tasted like a big fat piece of white p-nut butter fudge)...Some Oreo something or other that was to die for. It was just too much.

Then, as if our day could get any better, we went to see WICKED!!! It was so much fun to get all dressed up and head downtown to the Fox Theatre for the night. The excitement was just about more than we could handle. After having planned for this for the last 5 months, reading the book, memorizing the soundtrack, and just being excited for so long about it, I really couldn't believe that it was finally taking place. Of course some idiots had to try an ruin it for us by being smartie pants' in the parking lot, but they weren't going to bring us down for long! From the minute the lights dimmed until the Finale almost 3 hours later, I was in awe. The musicians...the cast...the principals...the sets...the costumes...some of the most creative writing I have ever heard...the mad beside me getting drunk the whole time...Brooke and Lo making fun of me for singing the whole time...It...was...AMAZING!!!! I have seen quite a few Broadway shows and while Les Mis is pretty high up there, WICKED far surpasses all musicals. It really is timeless, and don't think I won't try to see it again in my lifetime. It was THAT good. So if you can't go see it yourself, but need a WICKED fix, just let me know...Lori, Brooke and I will be happy to reenact our 3 hour drive to ATL...filled with Lo's commentary and support, Brooke's script and stage note reading, and all musicals numbers performed by me, accents, voices and all.
Friends, it was a weekend I will NEVER forget, and I am so thankful to have been able to share it with you guys!!! After all who else in the world would "be my birds" or learn the German word for begotten, or ponder the thought: What IS this feeling?" Love you girlies!!
