Things I Love Thursday 5.14.09

Sorry I've been a lacking in the blog department recently. Most days I just can't think of anything to write about or I'm just to brain dead to do it or I'm out of town or...or...or...I guess there's always an excuse, huh?

Anyway, since I missed last Thursday, I was determined to post something today...and when I realized that there was only 4 more hours left in today, I figured I should get on it!

I love the smell of freshly laundered clothes hung outside on the line. And I'm not talking about "Fresh Linen" scented candles here, people (although those do smell lovely). There's something about it that is comforting...makes me remember being little and helping Mom get the clothes in as a thunderstorm approaches or the way the bed would smell when the fresh sheets were put on it. It smells so fresh and so clean. And it smells like home.

I agree with you...although I don't have a clothesline now some of my fondest childhood memories were summer afternoons watching the clothes sway in the wind...hearing the first clap of thunder and running like there was no tomorrow out to the clothes line to gather up the clothes as fast as possible. Those were the days!

You just brought me back to my Mamaw's backyard. My cousins and I running around and eating wild blackberries while she watched over us...

And I can smell it too. Mmm.

Sweet memories!
